About Dan

After a decade as a muralist and painter in London, Dan Feit discovered a new creative direction during his first visit to Donostia in 2019. Captivated by the city’s vibrant landscapes and culture, he decided to relocate in 2020. His work draws deeply from his surroundings, blending urban and rural influences with natural and found materials such as sand, wood, and reclaimed frames.

Dan’s creative process is highly textural and intuitive, involving mixed media techniques with oil, acrylic, watercolors, and collage. His layered approach often reshapes initial concepts, evolving them into landscapes, portraits, or abstract meditations over weeks of iterative work.

During the pandemic, he adapted by reworking old materials and creating new art with limited resources, including a series of oil paintings on tiles. His residency at Tabakalera in 2020 allowed him to explore Basque landscapes, resulting in dreamlike and spontaneous impressions exhibited in “Un Año en el País Vasco” at the Okendo Cultural Center in 2021.

Recently, Dan has expanded into ceramics, crafting fish sculptures, and painting on driftwood-inspired houses. His art celebrates a harmonious relationship between materials, place, and narrative, continuing to evolve with his connection to the Basque Country.
